Dr. Joe N. Lester, a respected Conyers dentist, has announced his campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives to represent Georgia’s 13th Congressional District in the 2026 election. Born and raised on a sharecropper’s farm in Blue Springs, Georgia, he is a graduate of Fort Valley State University and Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry. In 1990, he made history as the first African American dentist to establish a practice in Conyers, where he has served communities for nearly four decades. Married for 45 years to Kimberly, they have four daughters and seven grandchildren. Dr. Lester aims to defend democracy and bring new energy and practical solutions to the district.
