John Jason Hayes

John Jason Hayes is the current mayor of Lexington, North Carolina, sworn into office in July 2022. Before retiring to enter public service, he had a 30-year career in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical communications industries. His last role was as Chief Operating Officer of Conisus, a Medical Knowledge Group affiliate, where he was part of a team that grew the company from a $12 million to a $195 million operation over twelve years. Hayes grew up in Lexington as the son of two deaf parents who were employed in local furniture factories.
