John Tyler Ray is a candidate for Henderson County Clerk of Superior Court in Hendersonville, North Carolina — 2026 Primary Election. Running as Republican.

J. Tyler Ray is a native of Henderson County and a graduate of East Henderson High School. He earned a degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002 and a law degree from Campbell University School of Law in 2006. Prior to his appointment as Clerk, he worked as an assistant public defender for Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania counties from 2008 to 2013 and later joined the Stepp Law Firm. He was appointed to the Clerk of Superior Court position in May 2019 to fill a vacancy. He has been active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for Valley Hill Fire and Rescue and as a deacon at French Broad Baptist Church.
