John Wayne Holden is a candidate for Holden Beach Mayoral and Board of Commissioners Election in Holden Beach, North Carolina — 2025 General Election. Running as Non-partisan.

Known as Alan Holden, he is the incumbent mayor and a seventh-generation resident of Holden Beach. After graduating from Methodist College, he taught school in the 1970s before focusing on his family's businesses, which include Alan Holden Realty and Sea Castles Inc. He has an extensive public service record, having served as a town commissioner from 1997-2005 and as mayor since 2007. He has also served on numerous local and state boards, including the Brunswick County Tourism Development Authority and the North Carolina Travel Council Board of Directors.
