Before entering public office, he served for 15 years in the Chatham County Sheriff's Office, where he started on patrol and later moved to major crimes investigations, eventually becoming a SWAT team leader. After his career in law enforcement, he pivoted to running his family's restaurant, Rufus', and served as a Goldston town commissioner before being elected Mayor. Hensley is a passionate advocate for preserving Goldston's small-town charm while guiding it toward a sustainable future.
