Josh Bassais is a candidate for Minneapolis City Council Ward 8 in Minneapolis, Minnesota — 2025 General Election. Running as Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL).

Josh Bassais is a lifelong resident of Ward 8 and a graduate of Minneapolis Public Schools. His activism started at a young age, influenced by the anti-racist punk rock movement and his involvement in labor rights. After attending St. Cloud State University, he worked for the hospitality union UNITE HERE Local 17 as a business agent and labor negotiator. He has also worked in marketing and is currently employed by Thomson Reuters. Bassais has served as a board member and president of the Lyndale Neighborhood Association. He is a father of two students in Minneapolis Public Schools.
