Karen Kalinowsky previously served as an At-large City Councilor, elected in 2021. She is a retired Pittsfield Police officer with 32 years of service, including 13 years as a school resource officer. She holds a master's degree in security management. Kalinowsky ran unsuccessfully for mayor in 2019 and again in 2023, not making it past the preliminary election in the latter race. She grew up in Pittsfield as one of sixteen children.
