Katie Cashman is the incumbent council member for Ward 7, having been elected in 2023. She grew up in Minneapolis and currently lives in the Steven's Square-Loring Heights neighborhood. She holds degrees in geography and urban planning. Prior to her election, she worked as a Project Manager at the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy (MCEA) and founded a non-profit focused on climate change education. Her experience is in community development, urban planning, climate policy, and environmental law.
