Kevin A. Herring was born and raised in Wade, North Carolina. He attended Cape Fear Senior High School and later earned an associate's degree from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in 1981 and a bachelor's degree from the University of Mount Olive in 2003. His profession is a licensed Funeral Director. He has previously served as a Wade Town Commissioner, first elected in 2021.
