Larry Dean Arp Jr., known as Dean Arp, has represented District 69 in the North Carolina House of Representatives since 2013. He is the president and founder of Arp Engineering, a firm located in Monroe. Prior to his service in the state legislature, Arp served on the Union County Board of Education for 12 years. He earned a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from The Citadel and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. At The Citadel, he was a Company Commander and a member of the elite Summerall Guards silent drill platoon. He is married with two children.
