Leiron Biton is an environmental scientist and a longtime resident of Somerville, Massachusetts, having moved to the city in 2007. He is married with two children who attend Somerville Public Schools. Before his election in 2023, Biton was actively involved in the school community, serving on the West Somerville Neighborhood School PTA board for seven years, including three as president. He also served as the president of the Somerville PTA Council for two years. In 2022, he was part of Somerville's American Rescue Plan Act Advisory Committee.
