Maggie McKee is a longtime resident of Ward 5 in Quincy. She worked for 16 years as a science journalist. McKee is a community activist and the co-founder of several local groups, including Quincy Votes!, which aims to increase civic participation; the Quincy Tree Alliance, focused on preserving the city's tree canopy; and A Just Quincy, which advocates for government accountability. She has served on the board of the Quincy Climate Action Network and chaired a city task force on food waste diversion. She attended Grinnell College, where she majored in physics.
