Marcus "Marc" Scruggs is a lifelong Raleigh native and a former member of the Raleigh City Council, having served from 1995-1997 and 1999-2001. During his time on the council, he served on the Economic Development, Law and Public Safety, and Public Works committees, and was the Chair of the Economic Development committee. His family has deep roots in Raleigh and was associated with the historic Briggs Hardware business. He and his wife have been married for 40 years and have two daughters.
