Rawson graduated from the University of Florida College of Law and serves as an officer in the Florida State Guard. He previously worked as a Washington aide to U.S. Rep. Rawson campaigns on protecting rural Florida and farmland from overdevelopment - stopping state preemption that accelerates loss of agricultural and ecologically important land, maximizing funding for the Rural and Family Protection Program to protect food security, and applying an aquifer-based environmental standard to limit growth.
