Mary Miskimon is a small business owner, former substitute teacher, and retired award-winning journalist. She began her career covering North Carolina state news. After moving to Apex in the mid-1990s, she became a community volunteer, serving with organizations like the Raleigh Boychoir and as chair of the Apex Tree Citizens Advisory Panel. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Kansas. Miskimon previously ran for the North Carolina House of Representatives in 2024.
