Melvin A. Edwards is a candidate for Springfield City Council Ward 3 in Springfield, Massachusetts — 2025 General Election. Running as Non-partisan.

Melvin A. Edwards is a lifelong resident of Springfield, Massachusetts. He attended the former Springfield Technical High School and later Westfield State University. Before entering public service, he worked for 21 years as a Transportation and Direct Care Supervisor at the Monson Developmental Center. Edwards was first elected to the City Council in 2008, becoming the first Councilor from Ward 3 in over fifty years, and was reelected for his eighth term in November 2023. He has served as President of the Maple High/Six Corners Neighborhood Council and Keep Springfield Beautiful. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Springfield Preservation Trust and is a member of the Ward 3 Democratic Committee.
