Michael Guzman, 45, is a current RTD board member representing District C. A Denver native, he grew up in the Baker neighborhood and learned community engagement canvassing for Democrats with his family. He was running for the Democratic nomination for Colorado's 34th Senate District in the 2026 primaries, prioritizing reform of the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (TABOR) to fund public education, environmental defense, and infrastructure, as well as addressing affordability. He has since suspended his campaign to pursue a Master's degree, endorsing Graciela "Chela" Irlando-Garcia, but plans to remain active in Denver and Colorado politics.
