Mike Alderson, Jr. is a first-term County Commissioner representing Commissioner District 3 in St. Mary's County, Maryland. An Unaffiliated candidate, he was elected to the Board of County Commissioners in 2022 after running unchallenged in the general election. Born at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station Hospital, he was raised in the southern part of the county. He attended Ridge Elementary, Esperanza Middle School, and Great Mills High School. A dedicated military veteran, Alderson served in the United States Marine Corps with the 2nd Light Armored Infantry Battalion during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
