Mike Flood is the Republican U.S. Representative for Nebraska's 1st Congressional District, sworn in on July 12, 2022. Raised in Norfolk, he founded Flood Communications in 1999 and grew it into a statewide media network. He represented the Norfolk area in the Nebraska Legislature (2005–2013 and 2021–2022) and in 2007 was elected its youngest Speaker in state history. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame and a law degree from the University of Nebraska. He and his wife Mandi live in Norfolk with their two sons.
