Robert 'Bob' Murrell was born in New Orleans and attended public schools, graduating from Riverdale High School. He studied Computer Science at Tulane University and has worked for over 13 years as a software developer and project manager. Murrell is a community organizer and holds leadership positions at his church and in the New Orleans chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America. He is also a member of Step Up Louisiana and the NAACP.
