Robert Carney is a current Town Commissioner, first elected in 2023. He has a professional background in economic development, having served as the executive director for the Mooresville-South Iredell Economic Development Corp. and the Cabarrus County Economic Development Corp. He is currently the director of client development at Dualboot Partners. Carney graduated from East Carolina University in 2005 with a degree in Marketing and Business Management and has completed further studies in strategic planning, workforce development, and urban land use planning through the UNC School of Government. He has lived in Cornelius for nearly a decade with his wife and two children.
