She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her teaching certification from North Carolina A & T State University. In addition to serving as Mayor Pro-tem, she is the Biscoe ABC Board Representative and the Biscoe PTRC Board Representative.
