S Wimberly Hawkins

Sonya Wimberly Hawkins is a community advocate, leader, and entrepreneur, and a 26-year resident of Fayetteville, Georgia. She holds a bachelor's degree from Saint Leo College and attended Southern University and A&M College. Actively engaged in civic leadership, she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the NAACP, and the Fayette County Democrats. Running for the Georgia State Senate District 16, she aims to bring accountability and transparency, serving with integrity and purpose. Her campaign focuses on understanding challenges facing everyday families and building a stronger, more equitable Georgia for all. She is on the Democratic primary ballot on May 19, 2026.
