Timothy Matthews is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has resided in Mount Airy with his wife, Sandy, since 1984. He has three children who are graduates of Mount Airy City Schools. Matthews has served on the MACS Board of Education since 1996 and currently holds the position of Chairman. He is also a member of Central United Methodist Church, where he has held various leadership positions.
