Dr. Vinson Eugene Allen is a physician, small business owner, and community advocate with over two decades of service in California. Raised in the Mississippi Delta, he earned degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and Education before graduating with honors from medical school. He trained in emergency medicine at Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital in Los Angeles. Dr. Allen founded Dusk to Dawn Urgent Care, becoming the first African American to establish a statewide urgent care chain in California, with 10 centers in underserved communities. He also founded the Saint Vinson Eugene Allen Foundation, which provides scholarships, housing support, and medical services to those in need. In 2022, he was a candidate for California State Insurance Commissioner. He has received numerous awards, including the 2024 NAACP Humanitarian Award and was named Doctor of the Year by Ebony Magazine.
