Will Shorter is a Democratic candidate for County Council in Maryland's Councilmanic District 2. A lifelong resident of the district, he is the son of a plumber and an Anne Arundel County Public Schools employee. Shorter's public service began in high school and continued as a student member of the University System of Maryland Board of Regents. At 23, he became the youngest elected library board chair in the nation for the Anne Arundel County Public Library Board of Trustees. He earned a Master of Public Policy from the University of Maryland, College Park and a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School. His platform prioritizes better schools, diverse housing options, and a comprehensive approach to public safety.
