William 'Randy' Burton is a native of Pender County with over 38 years of experience in public service, including roles in EMS, Fire Service, and Law Enforcement. After retiring from the Fire Service in 2019, he returned to a role in Law Enforcement. He was appointed to the District 2 seat on the Pender County Board of Commissioners in June 2024 to fill a vacancy left by a resignation. He subsequently won a special election in November 2024 to retain the seat for the remainder of the term.
