William Mondale Robinson, the incumbent mayor of Enfield, was elected in May 2022. He grew up in Enfield and left after high school to serve in the Marine Corps, followed by attending Livingstone College, a historically Black university. His career has included working on numerous progressive political campaigns across the country. He is also the founder of the Black Male Voter Project, an organization aimed at engaging Black male voters. Robinson's focus as mayor has been on addressing the economic challenges in Enfield, which is one of the poorest towns in North Carolina.
