Woodrow Washam is a candidate for Town of Cornelius Mayor in Cornelius, North Carolina — 2025 General Election. Running as Republican.

Woodrow "Woody" Washam is a lifelong resident of Cornelius. He graduated from North Mecklenburg High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Catawba College. For nearly 50 years, Washam has worked in the banking industry and is currently a Senior Vice President at United Bank. His political career began with his election to the Town Commission in 2013, where he served two terms as Mayor Pro-Tem. He was first elected Mayor of Cornelius in 2017 and has been re-elected in subsequent elections. His community service includes past roles as Chairman of the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce and board member for Visit Lake Norman and the Lake Norman Regional Economic Development Corporation.
