Born and raised in Virginia Beach, Alex Askew graduated from Tallwood High School and Hampton University. He has worked on numerous political campaigns and served as a Chief of Staff in the Virginia House of Delegates. He was first elected to the House of Delegates in 2019 for the 85th District, served one term, and was then elected to represent the 95th District in 2023. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia's Political Leaders Program.
