She graduated from James River High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from James Madison University, followed by a Master of Education in Health Promotion from Virginia Tech. She and her husband have two daughters who attend Botetourt County Public Schools. She is the incumbent, having served as the Amsterdam District representative and as the School Board Chair.
