Antonio D. Hash is the incumbent Sheriff, finishing his first term. He is a lifelong resident of Roanoke, having attended Roanoke City Public Schools. Before being elected Sheriff in 2021, he served for 16 years in the sheriff's office as a deputy and a school resource officer. He was also the former CEO of a not-for-profit organization. Sheriff Hash has completed the National Sheriffs' Institute Jail Administration Course (2022) and the National Sheriffs' Institute Leadership Development Course (2023).
