Nesbitt campaigned on repealing Michigan's 2023 clean-energy legislation, which he branded the 'Green New Scam,' arguing it raises energy costs and drives industrialization of farm and forest land, while supporting completion of the Enbridge Line 5 tunnel to secure propane and fuel supply.
“Nesbitt's campaign platform centers on repealing Michigan's clean energy legislation. He calls it the "Green New Scam."... We have to be energy-abundant, not energy-constrained... They still haven't rebuilt Line 5. That should have been done years ago. 70% of our propane in northern rural areas actually comes from Line 5.”

Nesbitt campaigned on eliminating Michigan's state property tax, which he called 'the challenge of our day,' and on fully eliminating the state personal income tax, pairing the cuts with a new state office ("MI-FAFO") to target waste, fraud, and abuse in government spending.
“As governor, I'll eliminate the state property tax... The plan calls for fully eliminating Michigan's income tax, a move that would significantly reduce state revenue but, according to Nesbitt, spur economic growth and attract businesses.”
