Bethany A. Harrison is the incumbent Commonwealth's Attorney for Lynchburg, first elected in 2017. She began her prosecution career in the Lynchburg office in March 2006 as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney, later serving as Deputy and Chief Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney. Harrison earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Virginia in 2001 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama in 2005. Prior to becoming a prosecutor, she worked for the Family Foundation, a nonprofit advocating for conservative family values. Governor Glenn Youngkin appointed her to the Virginia Criminal Sentencing Commission.
