Born in Beverly, Brendan Sweeney is a North Shore native who graduated from Ipswich High School. He earned a Bachelor's Degree from Gordon College with dual majors in Political Science and Business Administration, and a Master's in Public Administration from Suffolk University. Sweeney has served as a Beverly At-Large City Councilor since January 2022. His professional experience includes working in the state's Executive Office for Administration and Finance during the Baker Administration and his current role as the Assistant Town Administrator/Finance Director for the Town of Boxford. He is also the President of the Kiwanis Club of Beverly.
