Bryan L. Porter has served as the Commonwealth's Attorney for Alexandria since January 2014. A native of Alexandria, he graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and earned his law degree from George Mason University School of Law in 2001. He funded his law school education by working as an Alexandria police officer for over five years. Upon passing the bar, he was hired as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Alexandria, where he prosecuted hundreds of violent crimes. He is running for his fourth term and has never faced an opponent in his previous elections.
