Christopher "Chris" Norris has over 30 years of experience in public service. He began his career at age 16 with the Glasgow First Aid Crew and later joined the Glasgow Fire Department. His law enforcement career started in 1989 as a dispatcher for the Lexington Police Department. In 2004, Norris joined the Rockbridge County Sheriff's Office, where he served as a patrol officer, an FBI-trained sniper on the SWAT team, and a school resource officer at Maury River Middle School, Rockbridge County High School, and Natural Bridge Elementary School. He retired as a deputy sheriff in 2023 and currently works as a police officer for the Carilion Clinic Police Department. Public service is a family tradition, with relatives having served as the sheriff of Botetourt County and as a police officer in Flagler County, Florida.
