Dr. Carolyn Crockett is an educator with a background in special education. She served as an Exceptional Needs educator for eight years in Lancaster, Northumberland, and Richmond counties. She was also a professor at Virginia University of Lynchburg's Kilmarnock campus from 2008 to 2019. Dr. Crockett holds a Commonwealth Special Education Endorsement Program (CSEEP) Certification from Old Dominion University and a K-12 teaching license in Special Education from the Virginia State Board of Education. She earned PhDs in Healthcare Administration and Theology from Virginia University of Lynchburg in 2020 and 2023, respectively. She currently works as an advisor for the GReat Aspirations Scholarship Program (GRASP), serving students at Westmoreland High School. In early 2025, she received approval to open a new child care facility in Burgess to address a local shortage.
