Cassandra Aucoin was raised in a military family and lived in various places, including overseas in France, before her family settled in Northern Virginia. She earned a B.S. in Business Management from Virginia Tech. Aucoin has over 35 years of experience as a federal employee with the U.S. Department of Defense, where she managed initiatives in multi-billion-dollar budgeting, human resources, and program management. She has held leadership roles in civic and party organizations. In 2023, she was a candidate for an at-large seat on the Fairfax County School Board. She resides in Reston with her husband, a retired U.S. Navy veteran, and they have two children.
