Cathleen DeSimone is the incumbent Mayor of Attleboro, having first taken office in March 2023 after winning a special election. Before becoming mayor, she served as an at-large member of the Attleboro Municipal Council. Her professional background includes roles as a trial attorney for the U.S. Immigration Service, director of the Bridgewater State University Attleboro Campus, and an ESL teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Rhode Island, a Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law, and a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Eastern Nazarene College. She is a long-time resident of the community, where she is married with two children.
