My name is Christian Flournoy, and I am running to be your Student Assembly President. Since my freshman year, I have been committed to the betterment of the Cornell community through the Student Assembly as Freshman Rep, Undergraduate Rep At-Large, and Vice President of DEI. So far, I have effectively served the community through resolutions geared toward mental health, financial support, community representation, and more. The future of the Student Assembly—and Cornell as a whole—requires a new framework that prioritizes maximizing student voice and community representation. As President, I am focused on providing the student body with Transparency, Engagement, and Advocacy. Transparency of pending resolutions, assembly functionality, and more is necessary to reinstill trust within the community and ensure people understand how we are representing them. Increased engagement of student organizations, campus leadership, and the general student body will ensure that the Student Assembly can more accurately represent the Cornell community. Advocacy has been at the heart of my work since the beginning, and I will continue to be an advocate for you and your desires. I hope to represent you as your next Student Assembly President.
