Patreece Hutcherson is an experienced educator with over 20 years of service as a school counselor. She is a graduate of Atlanta Public Schools' Booker T. Washington High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Morris Brown College and a Master of Arts in School Counseling from The Ohio State University. Hutcherson has been associated with several professional organizations, including the Douglas County Association of Educators, Georgia Association of Educators, and the National Education Association. In 2017, she filed a federal lawsuit against Atlanta Public Schools over a charter provision that prevented employees of other school districts from serving on the board, a case that brought attention to the eligibility requirements for school board candidates.
