Christopher G. "Chris" Shelor

Christopher G. "Chris" Shelor is a Salem native who graduated from Salem High School in 2000. He has nearly 20 years of experience in law enforcement, having started his career as a deputy with the Salem Sheriff's Office for seven and a half years before joining the Salem Police Department, where he has served for over 12 years. He currently holds the rank of Police Sergeant, supervising the night shift patrol. Shelor is a graduate of the FBI frontline leadership school and has specialized forensic training. He was previously named Officer of the Year by his peers. He also ran for Sheriff in the 2021 election.
