Chris Runion was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and grew up on a farm in the Shenandoah Valley. He earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Virginia Tech in 1980 and an MBA from James Madison University in 1984. After graduating, he and his wife settled in Bridgewater. His career includes working as the president and CEO of Eddie Edwards Signs, Inc. Runion has been active in his community, serving as president of the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Rockingham County Planning Commission, and vice-chair of the Rockingham County Republicans. He was first elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 2019 and assumed office in 2020.
