Chuntao Samuel Yan

Dr. Chuntao Samuel Yan is an IT professional and a 25-year resident of Ashburn, where he and his wife raised three children who graduated from Loudoun County Public Schools. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Kansas State University. As a young university teacher in China, he participated in the 1989 pro-democracy protests at Tiananmen Square, after which he was forbidden from teaching and left the country. In the U.S., he has worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory and in the semiconductor industry. Dr. Yan was involved in the legal challenge against Harvard and other universities regarding their admissions policies, which led to a 2023 Supreme Court ruling against race-conscious admissions.
