Daniel Gray, an Arlington resident and energy and sustainability program manager, was a Democratic candidate seeking to represent Virginia’s 8th Congressional District in the 2026 primary election. He announced his candidacy with a platform focused on fighting MAGA authoritarianism, ensuring affordable housing, repairing the Democratic Party's brand, and delivering results for working people. Gray pledged to reject corporate PAC and AIPAC money, arguing that too much money damages public trust in politics. He believed the Democratic establishment lacked answers for current challenges and advocated for a new generation of leadership. Gray made the decision to withdraw from the primary race on April 30, 2026.
