Daun Sessoms Hester is a candidate for Norfolk City Treasurer in Norfolk, Virginia — 2025 General Election. Running as Democratic Party.

Daun Sessoms Hester is a lifelong resident of Norfolk and the current City Treasurer, first sworn into office on January 1, 2018. She is the first female to hold the position. Prior to her role as Treasurer, she was a member of the Virginia General Assembly, representing the 89th House District from 2012 to 2017. She also served on the Norfolk City Council from 1996 to 2010, including a term as Vice-Mayor from 2004 to 2008. Hester is also an educator with 22 years of experience in the Norfolk Public School System and is the owner of an education and training consulting firm. She earned a Bachelor of Science in education from Virginia State University and a Master of Arts in education and human development from George Washington University.
