Denise Hurst is a native of Springfield and a graduate of Springfield Central High School. She has been a member of the Springfield School Committee since 2009. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst and a Masters of Social Work from Springfield College. Her professional experience includes serving as the Vice President of Community Impact and Partnerships for the Community Foundation of Western MA, Vice President of Advancement and External Affairs at Springfield Technical Community College, and Site Director for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. On the school committee, she has served as vice chair and chaired several subcommittees, including Curriculum & Programs and Legislative & Contracts.
