Elizabeth Blair Trent is an experienced attorney with over 17 years in the legal system. She currently serves as the Chief Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney in Prince Edward County. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Hollins University in 2006 and her Juris Doctorate from Regent University School of Law in 2010. Her career began as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Portsmouth (2010-2012) and later in Halifax County (2012-2013). In 2013, she founded her own law practice, which became The Trent Law Practice, where she focused on criminal defense and family law until 2020. From 2020 to 2022, she served as an Assistant Public Defender in Halifax before returning to prosecution in her current role. She has extensive trial experience, including murder and sex crimes, and states she has never lost a jury trial as a prosecutor. A full-time resident of Charlotte County, she is a mother of two sons and is active in numerous community organizations.
