Ernie Q. Reed

Ernie Reed has been a resident of Nelson County since 1980 and has served as the Central District Supervisor since 2018. He was elected Chair of the Board for 2025. His career includes being an educator, teacher, and community advocate. Reed is a retired high school administrator and founded the Living Education Center for Ecology and the Arts, a non-profit high school. He has a long record of environmental advocacy, including successfully working to protect Nelson County from the Atlantic Coast Pipeline and advocating for the creation of the Priest and Three Ridges Wilderness Areas.
